White Peony

I love my peonies. I have two or three different varieties. The only problem with them, is that they don't bloom long enough! I always thought peony was pronounced with a long 'o' when I was younger. I guess it's the Kentucky accent that causes people around here to pronounce them as pee-O-nee. It wasn't until I started watching home and garden shows on television that I realized the correct pronounciation was pee-UH-nee.

This is a closeup of one of my white varieties. I love that the center is just a little brighter and has more of a yellow glow to it. I adjusted the curves ever so slightly on this to darken the background and make it look like it's floating.

Us Californians pronounce them with a long O as well. I have never heard it pronounced any other way before.

Nice Shot. Very pretty Flower.
